UFC 67

UFC 67: All of nothing will be held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on Saturday, February 3rd, 2007.

UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre has been forced to withdraw from February 3rd’s UFC 67 card due to a knee injury suffered during training for his first title defense against Matt Serra. The rest of the card, which includes the UFC Middleweight title bout between Anderson Silva and Travis Lutter, as well as the UFC debuts of Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and Mirko ‘CroCop’ Filipovic, remains intact. Stay tuned to UFC.com for more information as it becomes available.

UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre sustained the injury during a training session for his first title defense, which was to come against Matt Serra.

It's the second time in less than a year the Canadian champ has been forced from a bout. A groin injury took him out of a rematch with Matt Hughes at UFC 62 in September.

UFC 67's loss may be UFC 69's gain. Presuming he recovers in time, the next logical spot for St. Pierre would be 69, which is expected to be held in Houston April 7 at Toyota Center.

The rest of the 67 card, which includes the UFC middleweight title bout between Anderson Silva and Travis Lutter, as well as the UFC debuts of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic remains intact.

Another big name in Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will be making his debut against Marvin Eastman. Jackson is the only unavenged loss that Chuck Liddell has had, and a win here will eventually set up a long awaited rematch.

He won't be the only big name making his UFC debut though as Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic will be coming over from PRIDE to take on Eddie Sanchez.

Jackson’s first scheduled UFC fight is against Marvin Eastman (13-6-1) at UFC 67 on February 3. It’s rematch that fans will no doubt pay to see. The two first met at the beginning of both their careers at a King of the Cage show back in 2000. Eastman took the two-round unanimous decision and, according to Jackson, beat him up pretty good.

Six years later, the two will soon battle once again.
