UFC 136: Edgar vs. Maynard III Live Odds

Bet on the main match Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard have verbally agreed to meet for the third time in a headlining lightweight title fight at UFC 136 (October 8th, Houston). Following their draw at UFC 125, Edgar and Maynard were originally scheduled for a do-over at UFC 130 in May, which was postponed when both suffered injuries in training. The two 155'ers first met at UFC Fight Night 13 in April 2008, with Maynard winning by unanimous decision.

The long-awaited trilogy fight was supposed to take place at UFC 130 in May, but a nagging back injury led Edgar to pull out of thebout, while a lingering knee injury sidelined Maynard, thus forcing the UFC to delay the lightweight title.

Maynard handed Edgar the only loss of his career in April 2008. They met again in January, this time under different circumstances with Edgar as champion, but the UFC 125 rematch ended in a draw. That fight is considered by many to be the current front-runner for 2011 Fight of the Year.

Edgar and Maynard have unfinished business as they fought to a split draw in what many considered a “Fight of the Year” candidate. Maynard had Edgar hurt badly in the first round, but Edgar showed the true heart of a champion and fought his way back into the fight.

Both men have something to gain in this fight. For Maynard, it’s the title he felt like he won. For Edgar, he gets another chance to try to beat the only man who has defeated him.
