According to MMA UFC light heavyweight Phil Davis has suffered a knee injury that has forced him to be ruled out of the main event at UFC 133.
As a result, Ortiz will step in for Phil Davis on a three-week notice to face Evans. Ortiz and Evans last fought at UFC 73 in 2007 that ended in a draw. Ortiz is coming a win just five weeks ago when he submitted UFC prospect Ryan Bader in the first round at UFC 132.
MMA Fighting Ortiz and Evans first met in the cage at UFC 73 in July of 2007, where they fought to a somewhat controversial draw after Ortiz was docked a point for grabbing the fence to avoid a takedown.
