The UFC has also, reported “three of
mixed martial arts’ biggest stars” will be in action
in little more than one month, including Rich
Franklin, Dan Henderson and Karo Parisyan.
The UFC announced the light
heavyweight bout “Breakthrough” at the Philips Arena
in Atlanta, Ga.
on September 6. A middleweight Fight, pairing Dan
Henderson Vs. Rousimar Palhares and a welterweight
match pitting Karo Parisyan Vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida.
Franklin will return to the 205-pound division to
take on Matt Hamill, Henderson is in-line to
face submission specialist Rousimar Palhares, and
Parisyan has a very tough test against Japanese
import (and fellow Judo player), Yoshiyuki Yoshida.
UFC welterweight contender Karo Parisyan will look
to bounce back from a controversial UFC Fight
Night 13 loss to Thiago Alves and re-enter the title
picture when he faces Yoshiyuki Yoshida.
Yoshida (10-2, 1-0 UFC), on the other hand, will
carry a nine-bout winning streak into the match.
He made his UFC debut in May when he choked the
mouthy Jon Koppenhaver into unconsciousness
at UFC 84. A proven finisher, Yoshida also holds a
TKO victory against Akira Kikuchi, the last man
to defeat EliteXC welterweight title contender Jake
Shields.
Kurt Pellegrino Vs. Thiago Tavares
Both of these fighters are coming off of losses,
with Pellegrino losing by submission to former
“Ultimate Fighter” winner Nate Diaz, while Tavares
dropped his last fight by knockout to Matt Wiman.
Former “Ultimate Fighter” season 7 competitor, Matt
Brown, returns to action at UFC 88 fresh
off of his win over Matt Arroyo to take on one of
the top up and coming international fighters
in the UFC, Dong Hyun Kim, who made a splash with
his debut fight picking up a TKO win over Jason
Tan at UFC 84.
Two previously rumored fights have also been
confirmed by the UFC as Tim Boetsch looks to get
back to his winning ways when he faces James Lee in
a light heavyweight match-up while Ryo Chonan
returns from injuries that have kept him out of
competition since last year to take on Roan Carneiro.
The fight rounds out a pay-per-view main card
headlined by a light heavyweight bout of
"The Ultimate Fighter 2" winner Rashad Evans vs.
former UFC champion Chuck Liddell.
UFC 88 takes place on Sept 6 at the Phillips Arena
in Atlanta, GA.

his side on the canvas in the main event before
14,736 shocked fans at Philips Arena. This DynaPep
