Former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Renato “Babalu” Sobral pocketed an event-high $100,000 in his unanimous decision victory over Robbie Lawler in the Strikeforce “Los Angeles” headliner on June 16 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

Lawler, the one-time EliteXC middleweight champion, banked $85,000, according to figures released on Tuesday by the California State Athletic Commission.

Robbie Lawler vs. Renato "Babalu" Sobral:

Babalu starts the duel with a low kick. Lawler throws a wild left hook and defends a takedown as the bigger fighter ties him up. Babalu connects with a knee to the chin and several to the body before referee “Big” John McCarthy restarts the fighters in the center of the cage.

Lawler lands a left and again Babalu moves him to the fence from the clinch. Lawler gets distance and lands a clean right on the eye of his foe. Babalu connects with a left-leg low kick and gets a follow-up single. Lawler scrambles to his feet and escapes a guillotine. A kick from Lawler is caught and Babalu drags him to the floor.

Lalwer pops back up following a failed brabo choke attempt from the Brazilian. Babalu lands a kick to the body and Lawler’s left side turns red. A Babalu shot is stuffed and both fighters land right hands.

Marius Zaromskis vs. Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos:

Zaromskis strikes first with a straight right and Cyborg connects with wild counter punches from both hands. Again Zaromskis is blasted with a counter right hand. The Dream champion stumbles back to the cage and recovers as Cyborg swings for the fences and hits air. Cyborg is starting to land his right hand with consistency.

Zaromskis rockets a left-legged head kick that is blocked. Cyborg lands a hard low kick and his opponent switches stances. Cyborg gets through Zaromskis guard again to connect with a low kick and a left hook.

Zaromskis jumps into the air for a knee and the Brazilian clips him with a left and a right on the chin. The champion goes down and Cyborg swarms with punches until referee Herb Dean saves Zaromskis at 2:38 of the first.

Tim Kennedy vs. Trevor Prangley:

Kennedy lands a low kick and backs Prangley up against the fence. Kennedy tries to trip Prangley with an underhook, but the veteran uses a whizzer to fling him to the floor.

Kennedy scrambles up and returns to work on a single. Prangley defends and gets hit with a right standing elbow. Prangley trips Kennedy to the canvas, but Kennedy quickly scrambles and gets the takedown. Kennedy controls from half guard and passes to the mount.

Kennedy controls the right wrist and punches the head. Prangley gives up his back and Kennedy transitions to the dominant position and locks up a standing rear-naked choke. Prangley taps quickly at 3:35 of round one.
