Strikeforce M1 Global: Emelianenko vs. Henderson was a mixed martial arts event held by Strikeforce. The event took place on July 30, 2011 at Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

The Strikeforce Fedor Emelianenko vs. Dan Henderson Super Fight was everything you would have hoped for as an MMA fan. It was a wild slug fest from the opening bell with both fighters throwing caution to the wind and just letting their fists fly.

The fighters took a brief break from striking as they clinched along the cage for about a minute. However, both guys picked up quickly where they left off and in a few seconds later the fight was stopped and Hendo’s hand was raised.

Fedor Emelianenko vs. Dan Henderson:

Fedor comes out throwing hard. Henderson landing heavy and backing him off. They're trading big shots and Henderson pushes Fedor into the cage.

Fedor's right eye is already swollen and bleeding. Fedor defends a takedown by grabbing the fence. Hendo throws a bomb on the exit that just misses.

Fedor unloads a right hand that just misses now. Gus says it landed, it did not. Now an overhand right does land. Fedor follows him to the ground. Henderson sweeps and lands some huge punches and Fedor is out! Dan Henderson wins by TKO (punches), round 1. One or two may have been to the back of the head but it was in the heat of the moment. HUGE moment for Henderson.

Tate vs Coenen

Both women knew the importance of the fight. It had been given significant exposure and unprecedented placement directly before one of the most anticipated fights of the year. They needed to deliver with the amount of eyes that were on the fight.

First round opens and Marloes smiles at Tate as they clinch against the fence. They finally separated but Tate made Coenen work for it. Coenen landed a nice hook which made Tate shoot for a takedown.

Marloes is controlling her head though Tate gets the fight to the ground. Coenen was looking for a d'arce choke from the bottom though Tate survived. Miesha worked from side control and and stayed active from the dominant position. Coenen was unable to escape and the round ended with Tate working from a crucifix.

Cavalcante vs Green:

Cavalcante comes out throwing a flying knee, but doesn’t land. JZ grabs a leg, but Green reverses and gets the clinch against the cage. JZ ultra aggressive, swinging punches and lands a nice leg kick.

JZ has a small cut on his right cheek with a bit of blood. Green fires a nice straight punch that pops JZ. JZ gets the clinch looking for the takedown, but they separate after a few moments. JZ throws a nasty head kick that clips Green that sends him backwards.

Back to striking, a few shots thrown by each fighter but Green goes for the clinch again. JZ swinging hard and heavy, still stepping forward. JZ snatches a guillotine choke and pulls guard, but Green pops out as the fight comes to an end.
